Weight Loss

This is an impressive area of hypnotherapy. If you have tried to lose weight, and failed, it is because your subconscious mind is sabotaging the effort. You probably sensed this already: there is a beast lurking in the back of your mind that sabotages your good faith conscious effort to eat less and exercise more.

The subconscious mind is driven by the desire to seek pleasure and avoid pain. Eating is an extremely pleasurable activity and so the subconscious mind makes all sorts of positive associations or connections with it. It may also view eating as a coping mechanism for stress, boredom and any number of emotional states.

Your subconscious mind will fiercely defend bad eating habits, because it does not perceive them as bad. On the contrary, it perceives them as known, comfortable, pleasurable and something to be defended from conscious efforts at change.

Conscious efforts to reach one’s goal weight are usually tripped up and sabotaged by the subconscious mind. It prefers the status quo and will fight efforts to change.

In hypnosis, however, those fierce defense mechanisms are relaxed. In hypnosis, your subconscious mind becomes receptive to good ideas. It will consider hypnotic suggestions for change that promote good health.

Hypnosis changes your subconscious perception toward food and your perception of yourself. You will see yourself as having already achieved your goal weight. Your subconscious accepts that and slowly guides you toward your goal weight. That perception will be locked in at the subconscious level through hypnosis.

You will slow down your eating, so that your food consumption does not outpace your mind’s perception that you have eaten enough. You will be more satisfied with each bite of food. You will feel satisfied eating less and eating more healthy choices.

Good sleeping and exercise habits will be reinforced, making it easier for the subconscious mind to “get on board with the program” and be your ally in the effort.

Weight Loss Hypnosis can be addressed in individual private sessions on an as-needed basis. For better results, it is often approached in a structured eight (8) week course.
